About

My name is Andrew. I'm a college student from California, and while I don't have official work experience in IT, I do have a basic understanding of computer hardware/software and network communications, gained by building my personal PC and setting up my home network. As someone who has assembled a computer system, I am confident in my ability to conduct the research needed to select components that meet specific requirements. At the start of the process, I was overwhelmed by unfamiliar terms and the daunting task of installing each component correctly. However, with a determined mindset and the crippling fear of damaging thousands of dollars' worth of components, I slowly and methodically assembled my personal rig, which I now use to edit photos and videos. I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity. While this is currently my focus, I am still learning about the many different fields within Computer/Information Technology and am open to any new opportunities that may come. By completing this course, I plan to build a stronger knowledge base of the ins and outs of Information Technology while expanding my understanding of how computers communicate over a network. Ideally, I hope to gain practical Cybersecurity skills that will enable me to obtain a position where I can build on the skills learned in this course as I continue to broaden my horizons through future courses in my bachelor's program.
